Middle School Field Trips & Conferences 3/12 & 3/13
Middle school students have required student-led conferences and a field trip to the zoo on either Thursday, March 12 or Friday, March 13. Science Olympiad Team Takes Third Place at Regional Competition

Mountain Mahogany State Assessment Results Improve Upon District & State
The New Mexico Public Education Department has released official student assessment data from the 2023-2024 school year on the NM Vistas website: https://www.nmvistas.org/. For the 2023-2024 school year, Mountain Mahogany outperformed the New Mexico and Albuquerque Public Schools averages by 5 to 10 points, depending on the subject. |

APS Approves New Five-Year Charter Term for MMCS
On Wednesday, November 13, the Albuquerque Public School’s Board of Education approved a new five-year charter for Mountain Mahogany Community School. The new charter term will begin July 1, 2025 and will take the school through 2030, its 25th year of operation. The approval of the charter is a vote of confidence in Mountain Mahogany’s academic and operational strengths. In the new charter term, Mountain Mahogany will continue to focus on developing its outdoor learning and student advocacy programs. |

Thank you to everyone who joined Mountain Mahogany at Explora Family Science Night on Tuesday, November 19th. Over 270 students, family members, school employees, Governing Council members and alumni were present to enjoy hands-on science learning. |

Title I Right to Know Letter
Every year, as a Title I school, Mountain Mahogany sends families and students a notification letter of their right to request information about the licensure, other qualifications and teaching assignments of your student’s teacher and any instructional assistant who may work with your student at Mountain Mahogany. |

MMCS Holds Registration Thursday, August 1st
Mountain Mahogany invites all of our students and families to visit campus on Thursday, August 1st between 8:30am and 11:30am to complete registration and meet your student’s teacher or middle school advisor. If you aren’t able to attend in the morning, after hours registration (without meet the teacher) will be between 4:00 and 6:00pm. Please bring your student’s birth certificate to registration if they are new to MMCS. Please let us know if you are unable to attend registration so we know to hold your spot in MMCS. |

MMCS Science Olympiad Team Finishes 8th Statewide
Congratulations to the Mountain Mahogany Community School Science Olympiad team. In its first year of competition, the team finished in 8th place in the statewide competition, finishing in 3rd place in Ecology and Air Trajectory. The statewide middle school competition was held at New Mexico Tech on Saturday, February 24th. |
